On 6 November 2018, His Excellency Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand, presented the Letter of Credentials to His Excellency Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi. This ceremony marks the official appointment of His Excellency Mr. Atthakor as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Burundi, with residence in Nairobi. Following the presentation of credentials, the two sides discussed the ways to further enhance bilateral relations, including in the areas of trade and investment promotion and technical cooperation.

          Thailand and Burundi have enjoyed longstanding cordial relations. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
